Samsung Galaxy Phones Might Be Getting This Apple Intelligence Feature Soon

Although Apple can still have trouble following its technological competitors in the AI race, a feature it has deployed before companies like Google or Samsung was notification summaries. With Apple Intelligence, your iPhone can truncate long messages and alerts in succinct summaries that are intended to be read at a glance. The idea is that, rather than scrutinizing a sea of notifications, you can simply scan your missed alerts and quickly put yourself at speed.
In execution, however, it was a bit of a disaster. Although Apple AI can offer precise summaries, some of its outings were quite inaccurate. The most sadly famous example was when Apple Intelligence has wrongly summed up an alert from BBC News, saying that the suspicious shooter of the CEO of Unitedhealthcare, Luigi Mangione, had committed suicide in prison. After this incident, Apple drawn notification summaries for new and entertainment alerts, until the release of iOS 26.
But even when the summaries are correct, they are not always ideal. When Apple published the functionality for the first time, a user became viral after sharing how notification summaries summed up two partner texts of their partner: “Not in a relationship; wants the personal effects of the apartment”. In theory, it could be pleasant to see a summary of a long series of alerts; In practice, it might be better for you to read your messages yourself.
It is in this backdrop that the latter news from AI summary comes to us: Samsung is currently working on its own version of the notification summaries for Galaxy devices.
Notification summaries on a UI 8.5
As Samobile discovered, Samsung is actively working on a new summary function of AI notification for Galaxy devices. The taking has uncovered the functionality in the latest UI 8.5 firmware update from Samsung, which is now online for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samobile has this firmware in progress, but, for the moment, the functionality itself does not really work. What East Work, however, is a pop-up explaining the functioning of the functionality. However, this is an interesting first overview of how Samsung plans to deploy notifications on AI. As we can see from the current explanator, the functionality will draw from an AI model to summarize the alerts, which Samobile most likely supposed Gemini Nano. Nano is Google’s quick and light model designed to run on devices. This follows what we can see here, because the functionality claims that no data is never sent to Google during the summary of notifications.
If you are going to use AI, the processing on devices is certainly better than sending your data on the Internet. However, it will be interesting to see how the version of Samsung dries up compared to that of Apple. Will the first offer a more reliable way to summarize the alerts, or will he feel about the same thing as on iOS? For what it is worth, I had to deactivate the notification summaries on my iPhone. I just found it largely unnecessary, even when it was precise. If I had a galaxy, I would not be shocked if I felt forced to do the same.
