Readers sound off on a lack of lifeguards, Mamdani’s promise and Planned Parenthood

The not supervised beach puts the lives of swimmers in danger
Brooklyn: While another summer season is at our doorstep, the New York parks department again benefits from the inhabitants of Coney Island and the south of Brooklyn by providing no rescuer on the beach for a mile section between the Coney Island and W. 37th St., the end of the walk.
In recent years, they have placed rescuers on a bay on the side of the attractions of the pier where all non -local residents come out of trains and go to the beach, while Brooklyn residents are informed that if they want to go in the water and refresh themselves, they can all pile up in the only bay, which is not realistic.
They should at least put rescuers towards the end of the walk at W. 33rd St., which seems to be an area crowded for the inhabitants. There is a bathroom and parking at this place. Instead, the Parks department has employees who ride and descend the whistles of the shore, telling people to get out of the water, which is mainly ignored because people went down to the beach to cool off and relax. Take the money given to ignored denunciators and hire a few rescuers.
Local politicians were informed, unanswered. Should we wait for certain drownings to occur before someone acts on this problem? William Blitzer
Don’t savor us to save
Bayside: As a recent retired from New York, I’m very afraid of the prospect of having to change my current benefits of medicary to Medicare. Why can’t the city just put new hires on the adequate level and leave the rest of us alone? $ 600 million is a drop in the bucket for New York. What will they use, another unnecessary cycle path? Mary Santora
Ideological disease
Yonkers: With their propensity to never learn past disasters, radical democrats have again demonstrated the definition of madness by appointing Zohran Mamdani. The term “democratic socialist” is perhaps the most blatant oxymoron in political history, and this allegedly educated crowd continuously displays its dazzling nescience, having obviously missed history courses showing that socialism was a failure – a deadly failure – wherever it was used. A death death knell has been struck, and New York (and state) still has a chance to save itself from perdition. James McCaffrey
Majority rules
Manhattan: The classified choice vote worked. Mamdani did not win because of something. He won because enough New Yorkers classified him first (and second and third) that he will easily prevail when they execute the tab. It is democracy, not a problem. Suzy Sandor
Be open to hope
Astoria: A letter to NYC Real Estate: Do you think that many New Yorkers find it difficult to afford a decent place to live? And that real estate has a role in building a better future for the city? Do you think it’s worth listening to young people and their hopes? Do you think New York has always been defined by its cultural and economic diversity? If yes to one of them, please stop the tired and simplified criticism of the Mamdani primary democratic victory. However, you voted – and whatever your vote in November – talk to the guy. Some in the real estate world are panicked by this result, painting it in apocalyptic terms. But buildings need people who can afford to live, attend them and maintain them. I invite you to imagine that the future Mamdani is considering may not be that bad. This can even be worth building together. Annabel Short
War against workers
Brooklyn: Voice Art Gunther is right. The remuneration is too low and now no advantage. I got married in 1970 and got my first apartment. I also started a job at New York Telephone Company, union work. My one week’s salary has covered my rent. My total for rent invoices and public services were less than $ 125 per month. My salary included free health care and a pension plan. At the birth of my daughter, the total bill was $ 12.50 for the phone and a bracelet in the hospital. My wife was a housewife and I bought a second car so that my wife could use. These types of jobs are now difficult to find. The minimum wage is a joke. Profits pay millions of CEOs and investors get the rest. I blame politicians for authorizing the greed of unbridled companies. The lower and medium classes lose. Until they reform how the campaigns are funded, the money will always govern this country. Greg Ahl
Unintelligible
Manhattan: The “One Big Beautiful Bill” seems to be a large beautiful bomb – and the bomb only put us in a position where those responsible could have examined the results better or, moreover, the things that occurred before the decline in the bomb. These annoying photos of truck lines in Iranian nuclear installations before the air strikes come to my mind. What was he charging? Where did they take their charges? Has anyone looked at these photos before the execution of the big drop, and did anyone know what he was looking at? If they did, they have certainly done nothing about it. Talk to close the barn door after the cows disappear. More mind -blowing incompetence. Don Cerrone
Seems obvious
Nyack, NY: Why would Ayatollah keep its uranium enriched in the mountains where CBS News said it was for the last decade? We know that the Americans are very without instruction, but you will have to wear a bib because you could not keep the spit in your mouth so as not to understand it. Stephen Boyle

DUMONT, NJ: Is the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt graduated from the Baghdad Bob School of Propaganda? Walter Wolfgang Papenfass
Persecution policy
San Francisco: The blows and the arrest of an immigrant father of three American navies, who lives here for peacefully and legally decades, is only an example of the cruelty and madness of President Trump and Villain Stephen Miller. There have been many other active service stories, which spouses and / or parents were taken to meet deportation quotas. The master in the event of a disaster (President Dance) had promised to go after the murderers, the rapists, etc. And also promised to go easily for farm and hotel workers and other service workers. He broke these two promises spectacularly, as he alone can. The B-Bomber in chief is an embarrassment for the United States of America. Jimmy Layton

Rego Park: Is there a moment when New York or a big city all over the world could say: “That’s it, we can no longer welcome people”? Jeff Rosenblatt
Left crimes
Glendale: La Voix Laurie Aron believes that the demonstrations on June 14, which attracted crowds estimated from 8 to 11 million people on a national scale, prove that the Republicans are on the wrong side of history. Laurie, I have news for you: the 2024 election day, with around 75.5 million voters, shows that you have been on the wrong side of history since they voted for Trump. Most Trump supporters act as adults when things are not going on, while many liberals are anger by the public. As there are only two Trump rallies, I remember that violence had been associated, most people can name them (Charlottesville and the so-called insurrection). Meanwhile, the Liberals have so many violent rallies that no one can follow them. For example, in 2017 on the day of the inauguration, Washington, DC had a violent rally with cars burned following an election, because no measure has yet been taken by the president. Thomas Murawski
Vital services
Kew Gardens: Once again, the American public is dubed by thinking that Planned Parenthood is a clinic of abortion (“supremes say that states can deny the funds of Medicaid in Planned Parenthood”, on June 27). Planned Parenthood provides all types of health care for women and men, including cancer screening, contraception, prenatal care, menopause treatment, health education and even smoking withdrawal programs. Only 3 to 4% of their services represent abortion care. So why are people so willing to give up other health services they offer? Sometimes these clinics are the only ones available. Planned Parenthood also provides services to individuals, regardless of insurance. No one is repressed if they cannot pay, and they offer sliding costs. Do you know doctors who do this? L. Duzant
