President Trump welcomed an apparent reduction in Israeli military strikes in Gaza, while American negotiators go to Cairo to meet Egyptian, Qatari and Hamas negotiators in order to end the two -year conflict.

In an article on social networks on Saturday, Trump urged Hamas to “move quickly” to take advantage of the last respite in Israel’s combat operations, insisting that he “did not” tolerate the group “and warn that, in the absence of a quick agreement,” all bets will be deactivated “.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that he hoped that Hamas would have returned all the remaining hostages by October 13 – the end of a next Jewish party.

“It is not yet final, we work with diligence, and, God wants, I hope that in the coming days, during the Sukkot holidays, I can announce the return of all our hostages, the living and the areas that control it,” said the FDI in the depth of the band and in the areas that control it, “Netanyahu said in a declaration.

A hospital official seemed to confirm on Saturday that the bombing by Israel of the city of Gaza had “considerably decreased” after weeks of intensive strikes on the largest urban center in the devastated territory.

However, the director of the Shifa hospital, Mohamed Abu Selmiyah, told the Associated Press that the medical teams had nevertheless recorded the death of at least five Palestinians, and Anas Baba of NPR noted at least three air strikes overnight on Saturday.

Earlier this week, the White House unveiled a 20 -point peace plan, to which Hamas then agreed, at least in part.

One of the initial measures was a requirement for the group to immediately release all the remaining hostages within three days of the implementation of the plan.

After the Hamas public acceptance of this provision, Trump said on Friday that Israel “was immediately to prevent the Gaza attack” to allow the group to fulfill this obligation to release hostages.

Meanwhile, faced with international and national assembly pressures, Netanyahu published a rare declaration of the end of the evening on Friday, the Jewish Sabbath, which recognized a commitment to end the war according to Trump’s plans.

Israeli leaders have ordered the country’s soldiers to reduce its activity to Gaza “at least” and to carry out only defensive actions, said an informed by an Israeli official at NPR. The person spoke under the cover of anonymity because he was not allowed to discuss the plan publicly.

Although the Israeli forces will continue to surround the city of Gaza, this lull in combat operations is intended to allow members of Hamas to locate the remaining 48 hostages, said the Israeli army, with less than half of the people still alive.

Since many hostages have died, Hamas officials have warned that the location and determination of the remains can take longer than the 72 hours allocated.

US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff said he would go to Egypt to lead the American negotiation team, accompanied by Trump son -in -law and former advisor Jared Kushner.

These talks will probably focus on the positioning of Israeli forces during a gradual withdrawal from Gaza, humanitarian aid and the extent of an exchange of prisoners from Palestinians detained in Israeli detention, in exchange for hostages still inside Gaza.

Hamas also said that for discussions to succeed, this will require the approval of other Palestinian factions, including the second largest armed group in Gaza, the Islamic jihad, which ultimately supported the last plan of Trump by Hamas.

Demonstrations demanding the end of the war have taken place through Europe because the Gaza Ministry of Health said that the number of Palestinian deaths since the start of the war – including combatants and civilians – exceeded 67,000.

The main head of the opposition of Israel, Yair Lapid, wrote on social networks that he supported Trump’s proposal and would support the implementation by the Israeli government.

A group speaking for families of certain hostages said that the chances of their loved ones “have never been closer”.

Emily Feng of NPR contributed the reports of Tel Aviv and Anas Baba contributed the Gaza reports.
