5 Must-See HBO Max Movies to Stream This Week (October 6

Finally, October is on our doors, which means that we can start to store some frightening seasonal films in our surveillance lists to put us in the atmosphere for Halloween.
There are many available at the moment, especially on HBO Max – CLOWNS killers with smart cannibals – so I dropped some favorites at the top of the list for you. But don’t worry, I rounded things up with a few lighter palate cleaners so that you don’t go to a panicked bed.
HE
While we all sit nervously in anticipation of the next HBO Max prequel series IT: Welcome to Derry To land on October 26, it is now as good as ever to come back to the place where it all started. HE Atterri in theaters in 2017, and I ended up seeing him alone because no one would accept me because of the most terrifying clown in the history of cinema.
Based on the horrible novel of Stephen King, HE takes place in the small town of Derry, in Maine, where children have a way to simply disappear in the sewers and decrepit houses. It turns out that Derry welcomed the malicious entity that changes shape, Pennywise the clown (Bill Skarsgård), who appears every 27 years to eat the fears of his children, a group of which have come together to arrest him. If you see a red balloon … run.

The silence of the lambs
If you are among the mass of thriller-horror fanatics that have expressed themselves in the first episodes of the new Buzzy series from Netflix Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Then, at one point, your next stop should be the psychological thriller of Jonathan Demcar-Sweeping, The silence of the lambsBecause there is a very disturbing connection.
Jodie Foster embodies the FBI Clarice Starling trainee, who needs the help of a cannibal serial killer imprisoned, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) if there is a hope to find the Buffalo Bill Sadique. Partly inspired by reality Ed Gein, Bill kidnapped women, imprisoning them and burst them alive. Clarice and Hannibal engage in a psychological game of chat and mouse that she must win if she had to find the last victim of Bill before it was too late.
Edward Scissorhands
Lightening things is considerably that of Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, bridle corpse, Wednesday) Dark and romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands, A beautiful tragedy of 1990 which established the Gothic style of the writer-director, making him attach to fans for the years to come.
After an eccentric and reclusive inventor (Vincent Price) dies, his living and breathable creation, Edward (Johnny Depp), is unfinished, alone and left tragically with hands made of scissors. When Peg (Dianne Wiest), an Avon woman, finds Edward, she brings him home in her community of idyllic suburbs, where he is quickly embraced (and exploited) by neighbors for his styling and topiary skills. But when Edward falls in love with PEG’s teenage girl, Kim (Winona Ryder), her jealous boyfriend (Anthony Michael Hall) supervises Edward to get rid of him.
Edward Scissorhands Reminds us that beauty and love can come in the strangest packages, while fear and ugliness often hide behind the most beautiful pastels.
Dune: second part
If you are trying to get lost in the arrow landscapes of the enormous world of Denis Villeneuve (and you saw the first part), then attach, increase the volume and put your sand glasses for Dune: second part.
By picking up where the first film has stopped, we disappear in the world of the Arrakis desert, where Paul Atreids (Timothee Chalamet) realizes his destiny as a prophesied Messiah of the Fremen people. With his partner Chani (Zendaya) and the military master of Atreids Gurney (Josh Brolin) by his side, Paul leads the Fremen revolution against the Harkonnens in power and the Emperor of the Galaxy.
Dune: second part is as magnificent to look at as to hear; If you have an audio system decent enough to give it a little volume – that deserves it. From its sepia-tone landscapes and explosive battle scenes to the spectacle of Paul and Fremen riding huge sandworms through the desert, you will want to look at it again to take everything. Of course, Dune The first part is also available on HBO Max, if you want to get the full experience.

Brett Goldstein: the second best night in your life
And now for the palate cleanser! Brett Goldstein: the second best night in your life is the very first special HBO stand-up comedy of the Brett Goldstein actor, better known for his role as brutal football captain and coarse Roy Kent in the Hit Apple TV + Comedy Ted Lasso.
I know what you think, because I thought it too – Roy Kent is funny?! Yes. Yes, it is. It turns out that Goldstein (who also wrote on Spoil Lasso and is the creator of Apple TV + Contraction) had a stand-up career long before Lasso. This 60 -minute hilarious comedy special is a positive proof.
Filmed during one of his live performances in New Jersey, Goldstein talks about the differences between the United States and the United Kingdom (bathrooms, social standards, our fear of the word C); his famous hot mother; How Cookie Monster is a drug addict; his clumsy and failed relationships; And much more. Forget Roy Kent, Goldstein will surprise you with his charm, his mind and his intellect.
Regardless of the back and forth with the nonsense of name change, HBO Max is an OG service that has kept the price with one of the best film libraries and an original series of any streamer, period.
