Updated: UVA President Steps Down As Trump DOJ Civil Rights Div. Seeks to Remove DEI

Friday, the president of the University of Virginia resigned under intense pressure from the Trump administration, as part of a continuous process to enforce American laws on civil rights, and sweep decades of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and anti -Semitism to the higher education institution.

The application here is under the auspices of the Civil Rights Division of the Trump administration, led by the deputy prosecutor General Harmeet Dhillon whose team’s work since President Trump returned to work focused on cleaning things with regard to some of the most expensive rights of the Americans. Earlier this week, I wrote on their work on the implementation of ralls of the MALNANCEED voters of the nation.

Thursday morning, it was reported that the Doj was quietly looking to push President James E. Ryan as the UVA chief:

The Trump administration has urged the University of Virginia to withdraw its president to help resolve an investigation by the Ministry of Justice on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, according to a report.

The Ministry of Justice argued that the president of the University, James E. Ryan, has not dismantled his programs of diversity, equity and inclusion and distorted the measures taken to eliminate them, in the midst of administration efforts to eliminate Dei in higher education, reported the New York Times, citing people familiar with the problem.

The report continued:

The measures of the federal government targeting higher education include the realization of billions of dollars from elite universities such as Harvard, which has been the subject of at least six different federal agencies on issues such as Dei initiatives, admission practices and presumed anti -Semitism on the campus.

But it would be the first time that the administration has been pressure on a university to withdraw its president.

Now, apparently, that’s exactly what happened:

On Friday, the Trump administration obtained the most important victory for its pressure education campaign, forcing the resignation of the president of the University of Virginia, James E. Ryan, on the efforts of diversity, equity and inclusion of the college.

The extraordinary exercising the federal power to oust the president of the 58 -year -old University has shown the unusual durations that the administration would go to pursue the political agenda of President Trump and move the ideological inclination of the university world, which he considers hostile to conservatives.

The resignation of Mr. Ryan also presents new challenges for other colleges negotiating with the government, including Harvard, whose civil servants have been attacked several times by Mr. Trump and his allies.

Indeed. Barely a week ago on Saturday, Redstate wrote this president. Trump believes that an agreement with the famous school along the banks of the Charles de Boston river will soon be finished.

In the nyt room linked above, part of the reaction of the supporters of James E. Ryan (and his own) was captured in a lively sound and color:

Mr. Ryan came out of [president’s] Residence after a few minutes of the crowd while singing, “We Want Jim” and “Death to Tyrants”, an approximate version of the state currency, sic semper tyrannis.

“I appreciate that you are here. I appreciate your support,” Ryan told the crowd. “And whatever my role, I will continue to do everything I can to support this place and continue to make it the best place possible. And I would ask you to do the same.”

It is a story in development.
