Justice Roberts Warns Politicians on ‘Both Sides’ Against Violent Rhetoric
Head judge of the United States Supreme Court, John Roberts, talks about the dangers of violent political rhetoric against the judges, his comments to come at a meeting in Charlotte, in North Carolina.
The judges and lawyers were present at the judicial conference of the fourth circuit when Roberts made his statements on Saturday, Fox News reported.
“He is wrapped in the political dispute that a judge who is doing his job is part of the problem,” he said, adding, “and the danger, of course, is that someone could resume this. And we have, of course, serious threats of violence and murder of judges simply to do their job.”
He then issued a warning: “So I think that policies on both sides of the aisle must keep this in mind.”
Fox’s article said Roberts condemned the Democrat chief of Senate Chuck Schumer in 2020 for comments addressed to the Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch judges, who were appointed by Trump, for a case of abortion.
Schumer said: “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You will not know what has hit you if you go ahead with these horrible decisions.” However, he later said that his statement was addressed to the Republicans of the Senate and did not threaten.
In March, Roberts launched Trump’s appeal to the dismissal of a judge who moved to block the deportations of illegal foreigners who were suspected of members of the Gang Tren of Aragua (ADD), Breitbart News reported.
Roberts said in a statement: “For more than two centuries, it has been established that dismissal has not been an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a legal decision. The normal appeal examination process exists for this purpose. “
It is important to note that Friday, Trump welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to end the judges of the federal district to abuse injunctions on a national level, newcomers because they have hindered the progress of its program in several areas, according to Breitbart News.
Trump said: “It was a big decision, an incredible decision, of which we are very happy.”
“I have been elected for a historic mandate, but in recent months, we have seen a handful of radical left judges to effectively try to cancel the president’s legitimate powers to prevent the American people from obtaining the policies for which they voted in record numbers,” he added.
In 2022, Roberts expressed his agreement with the programs which offered judges, reported the Associated Press (AP). The point of sale quoted it saying: “We must support the judges by ensuring their safety.”
