The proposal suggests eliminating hundreds of thousands of current applicants already coming to the United States.
Additionally, the documents suggest that a cap will be imposed on cities with larger numbers of immigrants in order to avoid “concentration of non-native citizens.”
“The sharp increase in diversity has reduced the level of social trust essential to the functioning of a democratic regime,” the proposal says, suggesting they should only welcome “refugees who can be fully and properly assimilated and who are aligned with the president’s goals.”
And if it starts to look like white, that’s because it is.
Despite overall immigration reductions, the proposal prioritizes white people from countries like Europe and South Africa.
Earlier this year, Trump pushed for the resettlement of 59 white Afrikaners, who he said were targets of violence in South Africa because of their race. But many, including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, have called This “white genocide” theory is false.

Under the proposal, the Trump administration wants to prioritize people who have been targeted for “peaceful expression of opinions online, such as opposition to mass immigration or support for ‘populist’ political parties.”
But that’s not all; Trump’s henchmen also want to take the United Nations out of the equation.
Instead of honoring a long-standing practice of the UN seeking refugee status, the Trump administration is advocating giving that authority to US embassies. In other words, people of color seeking refugee status might have a harder time crossing the border.
Many of these measures are already implemented. Trump has already temporary protection status revoked of several immigrants and imposed travel bans on certain countries, some of which he affectionately described as “shithole countries”.
Technically, this proposal hasn’t come to fruition yet, but Trump is making sure it’s the reality for immigrants anyway.
