FBI Busts Alleged Hamas Oct 7th Terror Suspect

With all the news coming out of the Middle East, with a purported peace deal between Israel and Hamas – an agreement that Hamas is already violating by committing vicious reprisals against its own people in Gaza – it is easy for some Americans to feel a little relief looking at the vast ocean that separates us from this part of the world.
We shouldn’t get too comfortable with this. On Friday, we learned that the FBI arrested a suspected Hamas attacker on October 7, right here in the United States, in Louisiana.
It’s disturbing.
The FBI arrested a suspect in Louisiana who allegedly participated in the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
An affidavit charges Mahmoud Amin Ya-qub Al-Muhtadi, a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, with violating federal law by providing, attempting to provide, or conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization through his alleged involvement in the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. He is also charged with fraud and use misuse of visas, permits and other documents.
Al-Muhtadi is expected to make his first court appearance Friday morning, according to the New York Times.
In plain English, it appears that not only is this goblin in the United States, but he is also apparently here illegally. What a surprise.
The affidavit mentions claims that Al-Muhtadi actually participated in the October 7 atrocities:
“Al-Muhtadi is a member of the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DLFP), the National Resistance Brigades (“NRB”, also known as the “Martyr Umar al-Qasim Forces”), a Gaza-based paramilitary group that participated in the Hamas-led terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023,” it said. the affidavit. “Evidence shows that on the morning of October 7, 2023, Al-Muhtadi learned of the Hamas invasion, armed himself, gathered others, and entered Israel with the intention of participating in the Hamas terrorist attack.”
“Evidence shows that Al-Muhtadi’s phone used a cell tower located near Kibbutz Kfar Aza in Israel, the site of a horrific massacre carried out by Hamas and its supporters,” the affidavit continues. “Evidence further shows that Al-Muhtadi provided false information in his U.S. visa application regarding his involvement in a paramilitary organization, his ties to Hamas, his participation in a terrorist attack, and his military training.”
“Through this false application, Al-Muhtadi was able to obtain authorization to travel to the United States and obtain legal permanent resident status. Al-Muhtadi currently resides and works in Lafeyette (sic), Louisiana,” the statement added.
According to this statement, he obtained his permanent resident status through fraud.

It is not yet known whether he will be charged here in the United States or whether he will be sent to Israel, to let their justice system deal with him, but given the recent peace agreement, part of which included a prisoner exchange, it is not at all clear what his fate in Israel would be.
This raises troubling questions: What did Al-Muhtadi intend to do here in the United States? How many of his ideological brothers are already here? Where are they ? What are they doing? What are they planning? It is unclear when Al-Muhtadi entered the United States, other than after October 7, 2023. Was he allowed in when the Biden administration was not enforcing immigration laws?
If we assume (and I think it’s possible) that there are already other people like Al-Muhtadi here, can we expect them to eventually try to replicate October 7 here?
Hamas may have had some breathing space in Gaza. But we haven’t finished hearing them. Not by far.
