Republican challenger slams NY AG James over socialist Mamdani ties

The Republican running against Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James took aim at her relationship with socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani in an interview with Fox News Digital, arguing it put New York voters at risk.

“This association is not a surprise, because when she first ran for New York City Council, she ran on the Working Family Party line because the Democratic Party wouldn’t support her. She’s been a cashless supporter her entire political career,” Michael Henry told Fox News Digital about James’ support and association with Mamdani.

Jacques spoke at a rally in front of Mamdani’s supporters earlier this month, telling the nearly 3,000 people in attendance after she was charged with mortgage fraud: “Are you coming for me? You’re coming for all of us!”

Henry told Fox News Digital that James’ closeness to Mamdani, who has been described as a communist by many, shows that she is “disconnected” and suggests that this will be a “problem” for her in the long term.

“She introduced him on election night, she says he’s her brother, she belongs to him and, you know, she’s endangering the people of New York State because, forget the fact that the kids are anti-Semitic and communist, he’s never had a job, he’s never shown up five days a week to a real job, I tell you, when there’s a snowstorm you gotta get the sanitation trucks out, when there’s a cave-in structural, there is a serious fire, there is “Civil unrest and the police are facing an uprising, perhaps rioters or some sort of confrontation. Does anyone think this kid, with his smile and his word salad, will be able to handle these situations? ” said Henry.

“He’s not a serious person. He’s a failed actor.”

James, who appeared in federal court Friday to plead not guilty to mortgage fraud charges, has been a staunch defender of Mamdani in recent months, saying he is “the leader New York City needs” as the socialist candidate appears to hold a sizable lead in polls to be the city’s next mayor.

“She put the people of New York state, all New Yorkers, regardless of political affiliation, all New Yorkers in danger because of her horrible judgment in kissing this child,” Henry told Fox News Digital.

Henry ran unsuccessfully against James in 2020, but his 45% of the vote was one of the best performances for a Republican in the state in decades.

Henry told Fox News Digital New Yorkers need an “outsider” candidate who has “no fear of Letitia James.”

Henry explained: “Look, let’s be honest, she wakes up every day focused on three things: targeting the President of the United States, weaponizing her office against political opponents, and ignoring the issues that matter most to hard-working families. »

“And she forgot that the attorney general of the State of New York is the people’s lawyer and is not the henchman of the Democratic National Committee.”
