Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades named the remains of the two hostages it found in Tuesday’s announcement.

Hamas claimed to have discovered the remains of two hostages during searches in Gaza City on Tuesday evening.

Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades claimed to have found the bodies of two hostages and named them in the statement.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum did not respond to this claim at the time of publication.

This comes after the IDF released footage on Tuesday of the Hamas reburial and simulated discovery of the remains of slain hostage Ofir Tzarfati.

The video, filmed by an IDF drone that was in the area, shows Hamas operatives placing Tzarfati’s remains in a freshly dug hole before covering them with earth.

They then proceeded to “dig up” the remains and called members of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to witness the discovery.

ICRC calls fake discovery ‘unacceptable’

The ICRC then described this discovery as “unacceptable” in a statement published on Tuesday.

“It is unacceptable that a staged recovery of hostages has taken place, especially when so much depends on the existence of this agreement and so many families are still impatiently awaiting information on their loved ones,” the ICRC statement read.

“The return of remains to relatives must not be politicized.”

It comes as the prime minister’s office said the IDF struck infrastructure used by Hamas in southern Gaza after members of the terror group fired on soldiers in violation of the current ceasefire.
