The president then launched into a lengthy rant that was cut from the official version, in which Trump seemed to suggest that the decision actually came from his sons, who were “much more involved in crypto” than him. “I don’t know much about it, except for one thing. It’s a huge industry,” he said, adding, “So I’m behind it 100 percent.”
Trump repeatedly confused his “opinion” of Zhao with what he “was told” about the matter. “I have no idea who he is. I have been told that he, like me and many other people, is the victim of a vicious, horrible group of people in the Biden administration,” Trump said.
