Israel Agreed to Gaza Ceasefire; Hamas Should Take the Deal
President Donald Trump said Tuesday in a social position that Israel had accepted the proposals of his administration for a cease-fire in Gaza-and that Hamas should conclude the agreement, because this will not improve for them.
Trump said:
My representatives had a long productive meeting with the Israelis today in Gaza. Israel accepted the conditions necessary to finalize the 60-day ceasefire, during which we will work with all the parties to end the war. The Qatari and the Egyptians, who worked very hard to help bring peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this case, because it will not improve – it will only get worse. Thank you for your attention to this question!
The White House officials had met the former Israeli ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer, who, who is the Minister of Strategic Affairs of Israel and advises Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week on foreign policy.
Israel and the United States would work on a complete peace proposal which will end the war and see the return of the 50 remaining hostages – 30 dead, 20 living – as well as broader regional peace agreements.
Netanyahu is preparing her audience for peace – and more Israelis are talking about the need to end the war, which has lasted since Hamas invaded Israel and murdered 1,200 people on October 7, 2023.
Hamas is the bonding point. He refused the previous ceasefire proposals because she does not want to accept to be withdrawn from power and wants to continue to take advantage of the lever effect that his Israeli hostages have given him.
If Hamas refuses, it is likely that Israel will continue to fight against the remains of Hamas – perhaps at a terrible price, because the last retained from Hamas in Gaza also hold the last Israeli hostages as human shields.
