Your Older Peloton Bike+ Seat Has Been Recalled

Two years ago, Peloton recalled the seat posts on its classic bike models. Now the brand is doing the same for the seats of its old Bike+ models (but not the new Cross Training Bike+ released a few weeks ago).
If you have the older model of Bike+, you will need to contact Peloton to arrange a replacement.
Which Peloton models are affected by the recall?
According to Peloton, this is a voluntary seat post recall for Bike+ models manufactured between December 2019 and July 2022 and sold in the United States and Canada. If your Bike+ has a PL02 model number on the label inside or behind the front fork or behind the flywheel, it is affected by the recall. If you’ve checked and still aren’t sure, head to this link for more information.
Why the recall occurs
Like the previous recall of regular Bike seats, this issue involves the Bike+’s seat post, which “may break during use, posing a potential fall and injury hazard to consumers,” according to Peloton.
What do you think of it so far?
The situation appears less serious than during the previous recall, when at least 11 people were injured due to defective poles. Peloton says it has received three reports of broken seats in about 833,000 units in the United States, but no reports of broken seats among the nearly 45,000 units in Canada.
