Breaking Down the ‘Ironheart’ Season Finale’s Big Marvel Reveal and Post-Credits Scene

After two weeks on Disney Plus, Ironheart broadcast his final of the season during a drop in three episodes on Tuesday evening. Although the show did not serve as a vehicle for the introduction of Riri Williams into the Marvel universe, he brought new and not so new characters that we recognize comics and the great MCU – even if some of them were only in mind.
The penultimate episode saw Riri, Ezekiel / Joe and Parker to face their dad problems in their own way, the latter putting a weapon on his father’s head and grabbing his house and his company. Although he has Ézekiel under his thumb, he still does not know that Riri is alive. She took care of working with her family and Zelma Stanton to forge a new armor made from games of her stepfather’s car. Unfortunately for her, in the end, she lost her best friend and her natalie assistant when Magic was downloaded from her costume. It is a double sorrow on the loss of natalie.
Magic has a price, isn’t it? This is something we saw with Doctor Strange, Agatha Harkness and Scarlet Witch.
However, Riri put a moving plan to face the hood at the end of the final. She wants the coat for her own reasons. I will decompose what happened in the final episode, this being who presented himself at the end and what all this could mean for the MCU. If you have not watched the series or these last three episodes, do not read further. Spoilers to come.
The Parker path to the hood and its loss
The opening of this episode with the Parker path to the demonic agreement helped viewers realize how he ended up with the hood and the brands on his body. In the past, the character of Lucifer by Sacha Baron Cohen (“What is your greatest desire?”) Appeared with harmful intentions, including his insidious act of eating pizza with a fork and a knife. It is not aligned with the way they meet in Marvel comics, but we know that Parker essentially sells access to his soul in exchange for money and power.
Anthony Ramos like the hood (Parker Robbins) in Ironheart.
When Riri presents herself to pizza to fight the hood, she must go through Joe first, which is magic like a puppet to protect Parker at all costs. It finds a cunning way to replace its technology and close it. After that and the move negligent Riri who had Joe locked up, it is not exactly friends but not enemies who rage either. “Joe left. I have millions of dollars in weapons in me, and I don’t know where to put this anger.” He tells her to manage Parker and let him know that the two are not over. What does that mean?
Parker / Hood is not too surprised when an entirely alive Riri confronts him in his loft, but he is thrown by his use of magic. They are fighting, its demon side comes out, and it activates its “emergency protocol” to prevent it from destroying them both. It looks like Riri exploded his costume – and the hood – while it crawls through pieces of scrap. Parker is fine, aims at a weapon on a Riri with a tearful eyes with the intention of shooting him “for John”. But it’s a whole hologram!
She appears behind him, tears the cape from him and lets him twist on the ground in agony. “Don’t you see what it does to you?” Now it seems a little hypocritical because she wants the hood for her own creations, but nevertheless, she lets Parker beg him and leaves.
With a large pizza, comes the great mephisto
After his fight with Parker, Riri takes the elevator below to the Pizza of Desperito. This demon pizza and cunning knife demon waits at the table. He leaves Riri from his costume and makes him disappear while imploring to sit with him. She realizes that he is the source of the Parker hood, and he begins his sales argument to help him realize his dreams. “I look at you. Encouraging for you. By wanting to meet you for some time now because I like the exceptional, the motivated, the obstinate – someone curious and curious.”
Horming in his outsider complex, he offers to help and put it thick by adding that he helped the 100 people on the richest list of Forbes. Then he strikes her with a combo of telepathy and said aloud Riri to “build something emblematic”. His answer? It was mainly: “Yeah, ok, Dormammu.”
A guttural laugh indicates what it is, and he tells her that she can call him Mephisto. Yes, it is the Mephisto that many of you have been waiting for Wandavision, Multiverse of Madness and Agatha. He is here, and he insulted that whoever thinks that Dormammu feeds the coat. As we are rude.
In the end, he asks her what she wants, then reads her mind remembers her memories with Natalie – the real and the AI version. He pushes her to accept her help and assures her that “taking” is something “that she will not miss”. The camera cuts, ending their interaction before seeing its answer.
A new scene shows a table covered with magic supplies and candles, and Riri analyzing witch seals and mathematical formulas. A voice calls her name, she looks up, and it’s Natalie. Riri said, “Did it work?!” And wandered on its advanced creation of AI. But it is the flesh and the native bone, brought back from the dead, and they are both shocked and confused.
In a flashback, Riri has indeed shaken the hand of Mephisto, and this is confirmed when we see black lines crawling on her arm as she hugs Natalie.
The Mid-Credits scene of Ironheart
Shortly after the credits, Parker appears and enters the Stanton store. His head is covered, but there are traces of blackened lines on his face – so his demonic connection is clearly not broken.
It was his first meeting of Zelma, but he does not waste time asking for a magical help. Doubling that she is capable of more than tricks, he implies that he wants to see “what is in the back”. Zelma looks at him saying: “I know you don’t know me, at least not yet. But if you are ready, what would you say about a little Abracadabra?” She shruels her shoulders and the scene cuts.
What does all this mean for the MCU?
Oh, the presence of Mephisto can go in several directions, but remember that this series marks the end of phase 5. Phase 6 is still in the multiverse saga, therefore with regard to realities and chronologies, there is room for resurrections, change of shape, leap of dimension, flexion of reality and more drama in the cosmos. The comics of Mephisto Eninanglements involved it with Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Loki, Victor Von Doom (alias Doctor Doom) and a crowd of other heroes and bad guys (Yeah, Moon Knight and Scarlet Witch too).
It would not be completely impossible to see Mephisto agreeing with Peter Parker or someone else in Spider-Man: New Brand New Day, and certainly not surprised if Marvel drops him in Avengers: Doomsday. The comic scenarios of this demon with the Avengers, Doc Doom and even the Twins Maximoff could be reworked for the big screen as well as for the next television programs like Wonder Man or Vision Quest. Nothing is confirmed, but it’s time to burst your fans theories.
