Fed Housing Director Calls for Congress to Immediately Investigate Jerome Powell for Lying to Congress – RedState
The director of the Federal Housing Finance Administration (FHFA), Bill Pulte, asks the Congress to launch an immediate investigation into the president of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell after being accused of having lied to the Senate Banking Committee last week.

Pulte’s statements refer to the comments by senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), the majority member of the senatorial banking committee, who said Powell should “be embarrassed” by his testimony.

President Trump earlier this week hammered Powell for his refusal to reduce interest rates and expressed his hope that Congress “really works that very stupid and hard, finished”.
“We will pay his incompetence for many years to come.”
Powell’s mandate as president is expected to expire in May 2026, but Pulte’s statements show that the Republicans would like to see him deleted well before this date.
