How much do Americans care about the Epstein story?

The words “Epstein files” have hung over the Trump administration for months, as it faces increasing scrutiny over the sex crimes of the late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Pressure has mounted within the president’s own party, with his supporters and Republican lawmakers calling for more transparency about what investigators found.
That pressure intensified Wednesday, when the House Oversight Committee released thousands of documents from Epstein’s estate, mostly emails, shedding new light on Epstein’s communications and relationships.
The move reignited calls for broader disclosure. Hours later, the House of Representatives announced that it would hold a vote next week on the release of a much larger tranche of documents held by the Justice Department, the so-called “Epstein files.”
The BBC asked residents of Washington DC what they thought of the ongoing developments and how important these revelations were to them.
