Two store workers in Queens shot by disgruntled customer

Two Queens store employees were shot Saturday afternoon after an argument with a disgruntled customer inside the outlet, police said.
A 34-year-old man was shot in the left side of the chest and a 55-year-old man was shot in the right thigh during the shooting inside a Great Savings store around 5:08 p.m. near 149th Street and Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica.
A manager at a grocery store near the scene said that after the shooting, several people ran into his store to hide.

EMS transported both men to Jamaica Hospital. The oldest victim was in stable condition. The younger man, although initially reported in critical condition, is believed to be stable, police said.
No arrests have been made. Cops are searching for a man who fled on foot heading north on 149th Street.
Another store owner at a nearby business said crime has increased noticeably in the neighborhood.
“In the last 18 months, I’ve never seen it like this,” the store owner said. “I’m just here to try to do business, and hearing about people getting shot is never a good story.”
