Drowning in emails? Meet the app that’s cleaned over a billion
What type of email user are you? Maybe you have more unread emails than there are days in the year. Or are you one of those who have abandoned the use of email in favor of messaging on social media platforms? Or if you’re like me, having more than a few emails lying around causes more than a little stress, and as a result, you have a zero inbox policy. Don’t judge me.
Regardless of how you approach your inbox, I think we could all use a little help managing our incoming emails. Luckily, help is at hand, and I found it in the form of a handy little app called Cutting box. The app has so far been downloaded 515,687 times and has, according to the company, cleaned more than 1.7 billion emails, so it is trusted by many people.
I’m a Gmail user and for several years my account was about 98% full. Every time it reached 99%, I would diligently go through previous emails and delete the ones with large attachments, or if I knew I no longer needed them, then they would get the share as well.

It was not only painful and painful, but also a terrible waste of time. I’m not the only one, am I? In all honesty, I could have been done with Trimbox before deciding to upgrade my Google account to a paid subscription, which I will probably now pay for for the rest of my life.
At its heart, Trimbox is a very simple application that allows users to block mailing lists and delete mass emails with just one click. Its mission is to save users from spam, and it does it very well.
The process begins by giving Trimbox permission to access your email account. Did I hear a deep breath? I can understand that. Personally, I always think twice every time I have to, but Trimbox promises that all emails remain private and they never save or share your emails for any reason. I decided to take them at their word.
Once this is complete, Trimbox then gives you a list of email addresses that you can decide to “keep” or “unsubscribe”. They are initially listed as “most recent”, but you can sort them in descending order. I preferred the latter solution to be able to target the largest number of messages first. I started going through the list, finding the whole process incredibly cathartic.
In addition to unsubscribing from specific senders with one click, it is also possible to bulk delete all old emails from that sender. Say hello to lots of freed up storage space. The whole process couldn’t be simpler, and I have to say that I found Trimbox incredibly fast and responsive, even when deleting a large number of emails at once.
In all the excitement over blacklisting email senders, you might end up blocking someone by mistake. No problem. Trimbox also has a feature that allows users to undo their unsubscribes. Simply go to the “Unsubscribe” tab and click “Keep”. There is also a search box that allows you to quickly find specific email addresses.
