Your Anker Powerbank May Have Just Been Recalled

Anker has published two voluntary reminders of its popular electricity banks, both for reasons related to lithium batteries inside the units. The first recall, earlier this month, concerned the PowerCore 10000 units sold between 2016 and 2022, on the concerns of a risk of potential fire. The second reminder, published this week for five additional units, including Maggo and Zolo Power Banks, concerns possible battery dysfunctions that were detected during routine quality insurance tests. If you have an Anker food bank, you will certainly want to check that this is not one of the units recalled.

What Anker Power Bank models are involved in the recall?

Although the following models are affected, not all units of these models are part of the recall. The recall of the Maggo and Zolo banks, for example, has involved only one battery supplier. Here is the list of models potentially affected by reminders.

How to see if your electric bank is part of the Anker reminder

To see if your specific unit is included in the recall, locate the model number of your Anker PowerBank, which is generally located at the bottom of the unit. If your unit is one of the above models, visit the recall page on the Anker website. The page will direct you to the correct recall form, where you will have to enter the serial number on each unit, paying particular attention to the characters that look like, like the letter “O” and the “0” number (good luck with that). As soon as you press submit, you will immediately discover if your unit is assigned.

If your unit is part of the recall

If you find that your unit is assigned, you should stop using it. Anker has instructions on how to safely have a power unit – does not throw it away. Due to the Lithium Ion battery, you will need to use a home collection point collection point. Your city probably has at least one installation that manages this type of waste.
