Ravens Player Grateful Cowboys Deal Didn’t Happen

The Baltimore Ravens almost ended up in a situation where they had to potentially cut links with the large veteran receiver, Rashod Bateman.

Before concluding an agreement with the Baltimore Ravens, Bateman would have a target for Dallas Cowboys. Bateman was probably open to going to Texas, but in the end, it is grateful to stay in his current situation with the Ravens.

“I went through a lot with the cowboys and all that with my contract,” Bateman told The Athletic. “There was a time when I did not know what was going to happen. (Cowboys discussions) were one thing, for sure. It was a possibility. I don’t want to deny that.”

The director general of Baltimore Ravens, Eric Decosta, kept Bateman in a mentally positive space and made sure that he would be taken care of in the long term.

“Decosta, he always does magical work,” added Bateman, “and he made it work. And I am grateful for that.”

Being in the NFL since 2021, Bateman has played 51 games in four seasons. When he was recruited, Bateman captured 46 assists for 515 yards and a touchdown. During the second year, Bateman appeared in just six games, catching 15 assists for 285 yards and two scores.

Last year, Bateman already had his best season. The 25 -year -old received 72 targets throughout the season. He captured 45 passes, totaling 756 yards in the air. He marked a summit of nine courses in career.

The interest of cowboys to negotiate against an out -of -competition WR2 was obvious in the spring. Although they are on the Bateman market, reports suggest that the talks have not gone far. Bateman’s point of view tells a slightly different story, because it seems that there was real smoke there, but the Ravens took care of business on their side.

Dallas finally did the same.

The cowboys called the Pittsburgh steelers, which had George Pickens available on the block. Pickens recently completed his third season with the Steelers. He produced 2,841 yards and 12 affected during his mandate in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers agreed to send the large veteran, as well as a sixth round choice in 2027, to Cowboys. Pittsburgh won a choice of fifth round in 2027 in exchange. While the cowboys tried to kicks the tires on the acquisition of Bateman, a little patience put them in a position to feel confident about their wide range of 24 years. Obviously, Bateman is delighted to stay in his position.
