A museum dedicated to the Shroud of Turin has opened on the Christ Cathedral campus in Garden Grove, California. The exhibition is called “The Shroud of Turin: An Immersive Experience” and features interactive exhibits and a life-size sculpture of Christ. The original Shroud of Turin is kept in Turin, Italy, and is considered a relic by many Christians. Although the Vatican has called it a symbol of Christ’s suffering, it has never claimed its authenticity. The exhibit was proposed by August Accetta, a gynecologist whose fascination with tissue led him to open the Shroud Center of Southern California in 1998. The museum will remain open until 2030.
