Study finds Indigenous-led hunting most effective for tackling deer overabundance on B.C. islands

As British Columbia’s coastal ecosystems disappear due to long-term grazing pressures from an overabundance of black-tailed deer, a new study led by UBC in collaboration with the Coast Salish Nations and regional research partners identifies the most effective solutions to combat the overabundance of deer in the southern Gulf Islands.
