Search for a woman who got off a cruise ship in Alaska to hike and didn’t return

Juneau, Alaska – The authorities were looking for a woman visiting the capital of Alaska who did not return to her cruise ship during a hike she said she was taking, officials announced on Wednesday.
The Juneau police department said they had received a report on Tuesday afternoon that the 62-year-old man from Kentucky, who told relatives that morning that she left Norwegian happiness to hike, was not returned to the ship by its departure time.
Women ‘plans consisted in taking a popular tram from tourists in part on a mountain overlooking the city center of Juneau and continuing from there, with plans to go to Gold Ridge and Gastineau Peak, according to the Department of Public Security of the State.
Juneau is a popular destination for cruise ships. Many tourists who drive the tram remain near the developed area which includes the tram.
There are still snow areas on local peaks.
The department said that the ground and air searches had been carried out on Tuesday, the ground searches on Wednesday and aircraft in standby due to the covered and rainy time.
