Organizers of the World’s Strongest Woman competition stripped the winner of her title after discovering he was actually a man.

Organizers said they did not know before the competition that Jammie Booker was actually a biological male, the New York Post reported. Booker’s title was revoked Tuesday after dominating the competition at the official Strongman Games world championship in Arlington, Texas, over the weekend.

Organizers said Booker violated competition rules, which state that athletes must compete in the category of their “biological sex recorded at birth.”

“It appears that an athlete who is biologically male and now identifies as female competed in the Women’s Open category,” organizers said in a social media post.

“Strongman officials were not aware of this fact prior to the competition and we have conducted an urgent investigation since becoming aware of it,” the statement said. “If we had known this, or if it had been stated at any time before or during the competition, this athlete would not have been allowed to compete in the Women’s Open category.”

British athlete Andrea Thompson, runner-up behind Booker, is now the official winner of the competition. Thompson was notably filmed stepping off the podium during the competition, calling Booker’s victory “bulls-t,” according to the report.

“We are clear: competitors can only compete in the category of biological sex recorded at birth,” organizers said.

“Official Strongman is inclusive and proud to host events that do not discriminate against athletes based on their personal characteristics. Any athlete is welcome. But it is our responsibility to ensure fairness and ensure that athletes are assigned to male or female categories based on whether they are registered as male or female at birth.”

Booker has not publicly commented on his disqualification, according to the report. The organization said it could not reach him after the competition.
