Top Zelensky Aide Resigns Following Anti-Corruption Raid at His Home – RedState

We’re still waiting to see what fruit the recent talks regarding a Russia-Ukraine peace deal might yield, but on Friday morning we learned of an additional problem: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s top aide, Andriy Yermak, resigned following an anti-corruption investigation.
Yermak played a key role in the peace negotiations, so his abrupt departure raises obvious questions about the possible impact on the negotiations.

Andriy Yermak, head of the President’s Office, submitted his resignation following searches of his premises by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) on November 28, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced.
Yermak is under investigation by NABU in a case involving national nuclear energy monopoly Energoatom, the largest corruption investigation under Zelensky’s presidency. Eight suspects have been charged in the Energoatom affair, and Timur Mindich, a close associate of the president, is believed to be the ringleader.
Zelensky announced Yermak’s resignation in his daily televised speech:
“I want no one to have any questions about Ukraine today. That is why today we have the following internal decisions. First, there will be a restart of the office of the President of Ukraine. The head of the office, Andriy Yermak, has written a letter of resignation,” Zelensky said in his daily televised speech.
Zelensky, saying he wanted to “avoid rumors and speculation,” added:
“I am grateful to Andriy for always presenting Ukraine’s position in the negotiations exactly as it should be.
…
“Regarding the new head of (the President’s) Cabinet, tomorrow I will hold consultations with those who could lead this institution.”
As for who will now represent Ukraine in the upcoming peace talks, Zelensky said the delegation “will include the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the chief of the General Staff, the Foreign Ministry and intelligence officials.”
