That’s f*cking illegal: Fighter soccer kicks opponent unconscious

You can’t do that.
But Ivan Perez did it anyway – and he suffered the consequences.
On Friday at Budo Sento Championship 32 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Perez (13-10) absolutely punched his opponent Juan Alvarez (2-0) in the face just 41 seconds into their lightweight bout.

Even though he had a complete advantage over Alvarez, whom he floored moments later, Perez leaned his leg back and drove his shin straight into the consciousness of his downed foe. The maneuver was so blatant and brutal that Perez was disqualified.
It’s a shame this sequence didn’t happen in a soccer-kicking-friendly promotion, because it would be violently beautiful. Which brings me to my next point: why aren’t soccer kicks legal? We can dream…
