MS NOW’s Maddow Claims Republicans Will Call for Hegseth Resignation

Tuesday on MS NOW’s “Deadline,” network host Rachel Maddow predicted that Republican lawmakers will call on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to resign over a report alleging irregularities in his handling of drug boat strikes in the Caribbean Sea.
Maddow said: “I don’t understand why we’re going to war in Venezuela, and I’m not sure the administration is even bothering to try to come up with anything even internally coherent.” »
She continued: “So what are we doing there in the first place? Why are we blowing out of the water and killing people in boats with outboard motors, some of which aren’t even headed to the United States, let alone checked as containing drugs, much less even if they were coming to the United States and they had the ability to reach the United States, and they were full of drugs, why can’t it be to just interdict them like we do with the Coast Guard, where you go and take the drugs and then judge these people and investigate and then track the drugs back to their original source and then deal with them?
Maddow added: “It’s a disaster. I think Pete Hegseth, it’s impossible to imagine him surviving this as Secretary of Defense. I think he needs to resign, and I think the Republicans will ultimately demand it once they investigate this matter.”
