Doctor Dumps Cold Water on Trump’s Excuses for Getting MRI

Prominent cardiologist calls President Donald Trump’s MRI story bullshit.
Speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper on Tuesday, Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who has been a cardiologist for Vice President Dick Cheneyrejected the White House’s outrageous explanation for Trump, 79,’s repeated visits to the doctor.
A recent memo by Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, revealed that Trump underwent chest and abdominal CT scans as a “preventative” measure for men in his age group.
“There’s no chance that this is just some sort of routine preventative care. First of all, it’s not part of routine preventive care,” Reiner said. explain. “There are no patients who come to me, or any of my colleagues, to whom we say: ‘Let’s scan your whole body!’ » »
Reiner noted that a lot of information was missing from the doctor’s note. “The president’s doctor didn’t even reveal what type of ultrasound. The president said MRI, all the president’s doctor said was advanced imaging. Did he have an MRI? Did he have a CT scan? Did he have both?” » said Reiner.
“And what he didn’t say was whether the president had a brain scan. He didn’t say no, he just included some data from the chest and abdominal scans. So it’s not plausible or really credible to believe that they just decided to do a preventative screening for the third time this year.”
Trump’s visit to Walter Reed in October came six months after his annual physical exam. For days, the White House refused to explain the reason for his second visit. Press officer Karoline Leavitt claimed it was his “routine annual check-up”, but that clearly wasn’t true. Meanwhile, anyone with eyes can see signs that the president’s mental faculties are diminished. It seemed like he could barely stays awake during a long Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, and when he spoke he was inconsistent and confusing.
Trump has repeatedly stated he didn’t know why he had an MRI or what part of the body the doctors were examining. Yet he claimed his results were “absolutely perfect”. Barbabella’s memo detailing Trump’s visit to Walter Reed in October says the president “remains in excellent overall health.”
