3 Prime Video shows to binge-watch this weekend (December 5

As we enter the first of the last weekends of 2025, I dare say it is the season to be bingeful with your time off. This weekend, for the most part, I’m keeping it fun and sweet with my Amazon Prime Video selections, but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t throw something sideways at you, just for gasps and laughs.
This weekend, we’re peeking in on a regular dude and computer geek as he inadvertently becomes a government asset, then we’re hanging out with an adult-sized, cynical imaginary friend to maneuver life’s obstacles. After that, we’re going demon hunting with Kevin Bacon. So buckle up and get your giggle boxes ready, then inject some fun into your weekend and binge-watch these three Prime Video shows.

Chuck
Chuck Bartowski is an underachiever, not to be confused with a little Lebowski urban achiever. He’s also a giant computer geek who, in the blink of an eye, unexpectedly finds himself a government asset—or a target, depending on how you look at it.
After receiving an email from an old college friend turned spy, Chuck opens it, not knowing it’s encoded with the only remaining copy of a software program containing vital government secrets and critical information. Subliminally, the virus implants a treasure trove of classified, top-secret data into his brain, making him a walking threat—and potential whistleblower—to national security. Instead of eliminating him, the CIA and the NSA assign him to handlers and use him on top-secret missions.
One of the reasons Chuck works so well and is so engaging is due to the performance of its lead star, Zachary Levi, whom you’ll remember from Shazam!. It also features fun, witty dialogue, a tightly written narrative, a killer love story, and tremendous character development, on top of its nuanced job blending humor with emotional depth. Oh, there’s also plenty of action in there too. In addition to Levi, you can also expect to see performances across the show’s five seasons from Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Tony Todd (Candyman), and everyone’s favorite resistance leader matriarch, Linda Hamilton (Terminator).

Moone Boy
Created by and starring Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), Moone Boy is a hilariously charming Irish sitcom that distinctively captures the feelings of navigating childhood with a fresh perspective. The show is semi-autobiographical and is based on O’Dowd’s childhood experiences growing up in Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland, in the late 80s and early 90s.
The flat-out funny, three-season series follows the eccentric adventures of 12-year-old cheerful outcast Martin Moone (David Rawle, of Drop Dead Weird), the youngest and only boy in a chaotic family dominated by estrogen. As such, he develops quite a unique perspective on life and a special way to deal with its quandaries, thanks mostly in part to the unhelpful advice and guidance from his adult-sized imaginary friend, Sean Murphy (O’Dowd).
The cozy, coming-of-age comedy depicts the bittersweet experiences of growing up, dealing with school bullies, sibling rivalry, the adolescent transition, and finding your place in the world, sans conformity. If you’re a Gen-Xer, you’ll love the numerous pop culture references and hit 80s and 90s tunes. Even if you’re not, you’ll still find Moone Boy one righteous series you can get down with binge-watching all weekend.

The Bondsman
One of 2025’s new series, The Bondsman is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t ignore a canceled TV show. It was axed too soon, but that’s okay, because it means you can binge this one-season gore party in one weekend—or one sitting, whichever floats your boat.
Kevin Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, a backwoods bounty hunter who finds himself under the thumb of a new employer. When he dies and goes to hell, he’s given a second chance at life when the Devil offers him a job. It seems he is having an issue with capturing escaping demons, and hell needs Hub’s expertise. However, being resurrected and returned to Earth doesn’t mean past sins don’t still matter, as he finds out.
The Bondsman is a super-fun watch full of action, drama, and plenty of laughs. I promise, you won’t get bored. I also loved its atmosphere and tone—almost like it was based on a comic series or graphic novel. Though the story is an original concept, the core premise is said to be heavily inspired by the 1998 show Brimstone while also blending influences from Evil Dead and The X-Files into this curious little mix. Starring alongside Bacon are Jennifer Nettles (The Righteous Gemstones), Beth Grant (Donnie Darko), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space), Damon Herriman (Justified), and Jolene Purdy (The White Lotus).
