Sen. Fetterman Shares Unapologetic Patriotic Fourth of July Post Torching His Party – RedState

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has been on a bit of a roll lately, calling out his party, and Friday was no exception when he dropped a very unapologetic patriotic Fourth of July post and took a swipe at members of his own party for their lack of pride in America.
In the post on X, Fetterman shared a black-and-white image of what appeared to be the hood of a Jeep that had the outline of the American flag stenciled on the top of the car.
Last week, Gallup polled only 36% of Democrats are “extremely or very proud” to be American.
In the greatest country in the world, that’s just wrong.
I’m unapologetically grateful for our nation and the American Way of Life—today, and always.

“Last week, Gallup polled only 36% of Democrats are ‘extremely or very proud’ to be American,” the PA Senator wrote. “In the greatest country in the world, that’s just wrong.”
“I’m unapologetically grateful for our nation and the American Way of Life—today, and always,” he added. “Happy Birthday, America.”
The Gallup poll Fetterman referenced showed that the biggest drop in American pride exists in the people who make up the Democratic Party.
The report noted:
Democrats are mostly responsible for the drop in U.S. pride this year, with 36% saying they are extremely or very proud, down from 62% a year ago. This is only the second time Democrats’ pride has fallen below the majority level, along with a 42% reading in 2020, the last year of the first [President Donald] Trump administration. That poll was conducted during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and shortly after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers.
The poll also showed that Republicans are overwhelmingly proud to be Americans after President Trump’s return to the White House.
Republicans’ level of national pride has been much steadier, typically registering above 90%, including 92% this year, up from 85% in 2024. The only years in which fewer than nine in 10 Republicans were proud were 2016 and 2020 through 2024. All but 2020 were when a Democratic president was in office.
RedState’s Becky Noble recently reported on another poll that proved, as we headed into the July 4th holiday, that President Trump is Making Patriotism Great Again.
She wrote:
A new Emerson College poll released on Friday showed that a majority of registered voters say that since Donald Trump has been president, they are feeling more patriotic. It was taken between June 24-25, and surveyed 1,000 registered voters. Overall, 39 percent said that Trump’s presidency had made their patriotic feelings stronger, 34 percent said that Trump in the White House did not affect their feelings of patriotism, and 27 percent said their patriotic feelings had lessened.
Sadly, as might be expected, when broken down along party lines, the difference in the strength of those feelings of patriotism was rather stark. Among Republicans, 67 percent said that Trump’s presidency had made them more patriotic. Among Democrats, 45 percent said, shock, they felt less patriotic. Independent voters were pretty evenly divided on the question of the Trump effect making them feel more or less patriotic, with 31 percent saying they felt more patriotic, and 30 percent saying they felt less patriotic.

Fetterman’s right again. There is no reason members of his party should feel so down in the dumps about being an American. There is so much to celebrate since Trump got back in office, like the incredible job numbers that just came out, ending the flow of illegal immigration at the southern border, and stopping the insanity of allowing boys to compete against girls in women’s sports.
On Thursday, Trump even announced at his rally in Iowa that the celebration for America’s 250th Birthday next year starts now, as RedState reported.
