Dodgers get torched during historic loss to hated Astros

These are two long -standing Dodger villains, hated for two very different reasons.

As a last player in the remaining position of the Houston Astros trash can, and (in the eyes of most Dodgers fans) the 2017 World Series championship team, Jose Altuve still receives a coarse reception from Chavez Ravine fans.

As one of the most productive players in the history of the Dodger Stadium, Christian Walker often closes them.

Friday, in the rout of the independence day of Houston Astros 18-1, both added another chapter tortured in the history of the Dodgers against the team. Altuve went three for three with a double, two circuits, two balls on balls and five products produced. Walker went four for five with a long ball and four products produced.

One day, the launcher to start Ben Casparius was struggling again (abandoning six points in three rounds), the Noah Davis lifter abandoned 10 points in sixth round (the most than the Dodgers had gone to a round since 1999), and most of a closed window crowds stuck for every painful minute (pending in dark silence for the most part. Dodgers have already suffered at the Dodger stadium.

Six weeks ago, the Rétoutils Astros were a match above .500 and 3 ½ games of first place in the American League West; Apparently missing the other stars of 2017 who left the franchise since their signs flight scandal was revealed five years ago.

But now they have won 27 of their last 37, owners of the second best Record in AL and suddenly resemble improbable contenders for the title; Even after having returned almost the entire list of this famous season 2017.

“Admittedly, there was a certain story with our organizations,” said manager Dave Roberts, when asked if persistent feelings remained the signs of the Astros signs. “But if you actually look at him, most of these guys have left. So that certainly has no impact on this series this weekend.”

Instead, in a historically painful defeat on their home diamond, the Dodgers had bigger concerns to worry about Friday, with Altuve and Walker at the top of the list.

Altuve received its typical reception of the faithful Dodgers, serenade with booming huts and noisy songs of “cheater!” For each of his bats. However, he followed Homer de Tête by Isaac Paredes during the first with a double of the wall, then took Casparius Deep for a Home Run of two points on a bend in the third.

These weak lights have marked another frustrating night for Casparius, which, according to Roberts, will probably return to the enclosure of the lifts by advancing after having published an MPM of 8.24 during its last five outings as a starter and loose sleeve launcher.

“Obviously, when you are a starter, there is more preparation that goes on the other side, with regard to the preparation of a launcher leaving against a lifter, so I think there is [of] This, “said Roberts about Casparius difficulties as a starter, compared to the 2.93 era which he mainly had a lift to start the year.” But at the end of the day, he must just execute better. There may have been 60 throws this evening, and probably only a handful executed where they wanted them to be. And it’s difficult to do.

Even when Casparius came out, however, Altuve was not finished, adding an exclamation mark with a three -point circuit in the sixth of 10 points from the Astros – the most common as the Dodgers (56-33) had authorized a round from the historic cardinals of Fernando Tatis in April 1999 with the cardinals of St. Louis.

Walker, meanwhile, was just as dangerous.

A 34-year-old hitter who dominated the Dodgers (and, the most confusing, Clayton Kershaw in particular) during an eight-year career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Walker was already emerging from a start to the start of the season during his first year with the Astros (53-35) entering the series of this weekend.

Then, back within the friendly limits of the Dodger stadium, he orchestrated a monster performance from the order of Houston’s order.

In his first At-Bat, Walker placed Altuve with only one in the other direction. Then, two strikers after the great fly of Altuve in the third, Casparius left a quick ball in the middle that Walker hit his 28th Home Run in career against the Dodgers – and 20th at the Dodger Stadium.

Only nine other other players have struck so many circuits as visitors to the baseball stadium during their career, a list that includes the Hank Aaron, Mike Schmidt and Willie Stargell renown temple, as well as Barry Bonds.

“It’s just one of those funny baseball things,” Walker told Astros TV broadcasting. “No real explanation. Maybe good lights, I can see the ball? I honestly have no idea. It’s fun to play here.”

Walker also contributed to the attack on the sixth round.

After Davis abandoned one race in two single and two walks, the right -hander recently called fell Walker with the loaded bases to force another score, losing his grip on a 0 and 2 sweeper who has visibly left him on the mound.

Feeling the frustration of Davis, Roberts came to the bump for a discourse of motivation encouragement; Arouse memories of the embrace of the middle of the game he delivered to the Libeur Compagnon Yohan Ramirez last season in Cincinnati.

This time, however, the visit to the mound had little effect. In the next stick, Davis launched a suspended sweeper that Victor Caratini completed for a big slam. What was already a laugh has become a full -fledged disaster of July 4.
