Scott Jennings Smashes Race-Baiting Democrat’s Argument Into Pieces
Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings called out Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross on Thursday when she claimed Republicans were trying to suppress black voters.
The Indiana state Senate on Thursday rejected a congressional map that would have eliminated two Democratic-leaning seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, despite calls from President Donald Trump and Republican Gov. Mike Braun of Indiana. Cross told “The Source” host Kaitlan Collins that efforts to suppress votes lasted for decades, before Jennings fought back. “I was born black. I will be black all my life. I don’t want to hear anyone say that the Republican Party hasn’t done everything possible to keep people who look like me out of the polls, because that’s horribly wrong. This is something that has been charged in court over and over again, decade after decade, particularly in the South, where the greatest concentration of black people live,” Cross asserted, as Jennings chimed in to ask, “Where? How? Where and how? Where?

Cross then cited Georgia, which has not undertaken redistricting, and Texas, where the Supreme Court allowed Texas to use maps adopted after Texas Democrats fled the state House of Representatives to Democratic-controlled states like New York and Illinois to thwart redistricting that could net Republicans several seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“The erosion of the Voting Rights Act has been carried out comprehensively by the Republican Party. What we see from Donald Trump is someone who wants to and continues to try to expand his power through the most illegal means,” Cross said. “So yes, those orders were challenged. And those orders were challenged in Venezuela because, frankly, there was no motivation to go there in the first place. What we know is that more than likely, it was illegal, first and foremost, which is why he’s trying to hide the videos.”
“OK. So, a few things: First, has anyone ever personally tried to stop you from voting? Answer no. Second, there are no illegal orders,” Jennings responded. “Number three, in this country – number three, in this country, I hate – I hate to remind you of our history, but it was the Democratic Party that tried and tried and tried to suppress black votes in this country, not the Republican Party.

“I think you need to reread your history on civil rights. The Democratic Party doesn’t have a clean record on civil rights,” Jennings said. “But at the end of the day, Democrats are going to continue to be ruthless. They’re going to continue to try to gerrymander. They’re going to continue to try to say that the president is giving illegal orders to waste our military. Who knows what they’ll do in Washington from now on.”
“But at the end of the day, the Republicans did not do this redistricting tonight,” Jennings continued. “The Democrats are going to continue to do it. And if you’re looking for who are the most ruthless partisan actors? It’s the Democratic Party.”
