Good evening everyone ! Meteorologist Nick Dunn is here with you on a busy, snowy Saturday.

This system will bring a good amount of snow to start the weekend, but my concerns will then turn to dangerously cold temperatures Sunday into Monday.

A Winter weather warning is in force for Auglaize, Butler, Clark, Clinton, Champaign, Darke, Miami, Logan, Mercer, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, And Warren Ohio counties. It also includes Randolph And Wayne Indiana Counties.

As the snow slowly diminishes later tonight, gusty winds will pick up this fluffy snow and blow it around, causing road issues through Sunday morning.

The forecast remains unchanged as 3-6″ of snow is likely for everyone when you look at the map! A few reports of up to about 7 inches are possible south of I-70, especially where some bands of snow have been rather frequent and lasting longer.

Futurecast shows the snow tapering off a bit around 8:00 p.m., and by then temperatures are cold enough and salt is less effective. We will find the snow continues to slowly accumulate until around 10:00-11:00 p.m. when only flurries remain. Windy conditions will make secondary roads and untreated surfaces slippery for the remainder of the night into Sunday morning.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect this evening until Monday morning. This is issued when the wind chill drops to -10 degrees or lower. We certainly have this available for Sunday and Monday mornings.

The coldest wind chills will exist on Sunday morning for everyone! Single digit air temperatures with wind chills of -10 to -20 degrees are likely.

Monday morning is slightly better, but still dangerous because frostbite can set in within 30 minutes on exposed skin when wind chills fall below zero. Improvement will be noted in the afternoon with highs in the lower 20s. Be careful!
