New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, who dedicated his life to Jesus Christ a few years ago, is raising awareness that Christians are being persecuted all over the world.

For the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” game, Henderson highlighted Global Christian Relief (GCR) which helps more than 300 million Christians targeted because of their faith, the Daily Wire reported Sunday.

Henderson and his wife designed the cleats he wore for the Dec. 1 game, as well as the artwork. watch blood was flowing, people on their knees in prayer, crosses and people brandishing crosses. On the back of the cleats is printed the biblical verse Matthew 5:10 and the words “FAITH ENDURES”.

The verse says: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Explaining the design, Henderson said: “The blood flowing down the cleats symbolizes the blood that was shed on the cross, the blood that was shed by people who lost their lives for pursuing and following Christ. »

The GCR website says the map on one of the spikes highlights where persecution is most intense.

In November, Nigerian Bishop Wilfred Anagbe of Makurdi Diocese in Benue State spoke in the House of Representatives about the horrific violence Christians routinely face in the country, Breitbart News reported, adding that he also thanked President Donald Trump for designating the country a danger zone for religious freedom.

Speaking about how his heart aches for persecuted Christians in Nigeria, Henderson said“God put me in this position for a reason. I just want to continue to lead people to Christ or just support and help other brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling, who are facing persecution.”

Henderson said learning that Christians had been killed broke his heart time and time again and inspired him to help:

“Jesus warned us that this walk will not be easy. It has a cost. But it is worth it. God is a compassionate God, and I believe that as His disciples, He wants us to be compassionate as well. He wants us to care for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, to love and support one another,” he said.
