Palmer ‘still one of best in the world’
After 87 days without appearing on the scoresheet, Cole Palmer ended his barren run by scoring Chelsea’s first-half opener in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Everton – ahead of England manager Thomas Tuchel.
The 23-year-old is still suffering from a groin injury which has kept him out for much of the campaign so far, while he also suffered a broken toe in an accident at his home in late November.

After rusty performances against Leeds United and Bournemouth, Saturday’s calm following Malo Gusto’s pass suggests he has lost none of the instinct that helped him score 15 goals in 37 league appearances last season.
“What I find incredible is that people are saying Cole Palmer will be a problem when he comes back from injury,” former England full-back Stephen Warnock told BBC Final Score on Saturday. “He was incredible.
“I place him in the category of the best players in the world.”
