Employee Finds Woman’s Body Inside Dollar Tree Freezer

Police said a Dollar Tree employee found a woman’s body in a store’s freezer in Miami, Florida, on Sunday.
The discovery took place at 968 SW Eighth Street and the employee quickly called law enforcement, Local 10 reported.
When police arrived to investigate, they found a woman’s body in a cooler in the back of the store. It was unclear whether the freezer was industrial or some form of commercial display.
According to Bush Refrigeration, walk-in coolers and freezers are built with safety triggers to prevent anyone from being trapped inside.
“Employees locked in cold storage risk hypothermia or even death as temperatures can be below freezing,” the site says.
Authorities suspect foul play and are working to determine the details of what happened, NBC Miami reported, noting that the woman’s identity had not been released and that she was not an employee.
At this time, law enforcement is treating this as an unclassified death.
Video footage shows police cars parked in front of the Dollar Tree, and a Local 10 reporter said police planned to hold a press conference:
