Podcaster Joe Rogan mocked the state’s liberal policies Tuesday, arguing they allow mountain lions to run rampant and eat pets in America’s neighborhoods.

Rogan spoke Tuesday with hunters Cameron Hanes and Adam Greentree about the stuffed mountain lion on display in his lobby. In its life, this mountain lion had been notoriously destructive and was killed while eating a dairy cow from behind while pinned to the ground.

“It’s like there’s a werewolf on the loose in your town,” Rogan said, going over the details of the creature’s rampage.

Rogan said there is currently a crisis in Japan, where, as many hunters age, a surplus of brown bears has begun attacking humans. This reached the point where the Japanese military had to step in to help cull the bear population.

He then criticized that some states were not doing enough to reduce the mountain lion population, noting that the predator had begun to make pets a key part of its diet.

“They’re not doing anything to reduce the population. And it’s like people are saying, ‘Oh, it’s okay. Let’s let nature do its thing.’ No, it doesn’t do its job. It kills your dog, okay? » he warned listeners on his podcast. “One of the things they discovered in San Francisco, in the Bay Area, is that when they killed these mountain lions, they analyzed their diet. It is made up of 50% dogs and cats.

He pointed out: “50% of their diet is eating people’s pets. So they hunt people’s pets. This means that if you are a dog lover, you allow a monster to eat your dog because you think it is the right thing to do and to be kind to nature. No, you have to chase them away. bite you in the d—.”

Rogan, who has criticized the state several times in the past, later recalled his time in California. He explained that deer are now much rarer due to the booming mountain lion population. By comparison, it’s much more common to see deer in Texas, he argued.

“You know why? Because there are no mountain lions and you can shoot them. California has a problem with mountain lions.”

Both Hanes and Greentree talked about how the votes of big city residents exceed those of rural residents. This can be a problem during elections, when city residents vote for policies that limit citizens’ ability to control these predators.

Rogan shared a harrowing story from Hanes about being chased by a mountain lion during a night run in California and warned: “These are the consequences of letting monsters live in your neighborhood,” he said.

“It’s the difference between people who really understand what we’re talking about and those who look at it from the perspective of instinctive love and compassion for nature,” he said.

He then mocked people who oppose trophy hunting, saying it might be better to call it “monster control.” He concluded: “I love animals, but I’m on the ‘People’ team.”
