Ja’Marr Chase’s comments about Bengals seem notable

Like Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase isn’t going to throw anyone under the bus amid a lost season.
Chase fielded plenty of obvious questions later this week at his weekly presser not long after Burrow got done with another memorable one of his own.

Perhaps most notably, Chase got asked how he feels about the front office and coaching staff.
Chase dropped this line: “I feel great about them … I’ve got a great bond with the staff.”
Chase expanded on why the Bengals get so much loyalty from players: “Probably because they’ve shown them love since they got here as rookies … Over time you keep building on a relationship, and they still have one.”

It should go without saying, but this isn’t Chase advocating for the Bengals to do more of the same thing again in the offseason. They’ve missed the playoffs three offseasons in a row.

But to their credit, this does speak to the family-based environment and the culture Zac Taylor has crafted in Cincinnati over the years. There’s been some rough patches, especially when it comes to contracts (just ask Chase). But overall? Solid marks.
Again, Chase isn’t going to say anything else in public. And it won’t be an overwhelming mark in favor of Taylor or others on the hot seat compared to the noise from the fanbase, especially if it starts impacting the bottom line.
