It has been almost a quarter of a century since the Yankees underwent separate six -game games in the same season.

The last time it happened was in September / October 2000, when the Yankees abandoned 13 of their last 15 regular season games, including the last seven.

But the current Yankees equaled this little enviable feat on Saturday, when their 12-6 defeat against the dishes to Citi Field extended their last slip to six games in a row.

The Yankees have now lost 16 of their last 22 games, a section that includes their two six -game slides.

“When you live it and cross it, it fears,” said manager Aaron Boone. “It hurts. But you must be able to manage it. You must be able to face it. You must be able to resist it and get out of this and grow up. ”

The dishes struck three home circuits in the rout of Saturday, including two against the start of the Yankees Carlos Rodón.

Rodón made a big first-hand chelem to Brandon Nimmo on a 1-2 cursor, giving the food a 4-0 lead. Pete Alonso extended the advantage of the 7-2 foods at the fifth when he pierced a circuit of two rounds in the opposite field on a quick ball of Rodón.

It was the biggest strokes in a difficult afternoon for Rodón, who granted a summit of seven points (six deserved) in five rounds.

“Many failures today,” said Rodón, “and they punished them.”

Not all damage was Rodón’s fault.

A Blocker from the Starling Marte bat fell next to the left defender Jasson Domínguez, then rebounded in front of the voltiseur while Marte entered the second goal to lead the bottom of the first.

The third goal player Jazz Chisholm Jr. committed a launch error that allowed Tyrone Taylor to reach the base in the second round. Taylor scored when Marte borders a simple on the wall of the left field, representing the undoned race of Rodón.

“I feel like we have a good defensive club,” said Boone. “We have not been our best here in recent weeks. We have clearly made too many mistakes in the process while we are struggling a little on the mound, so we have to be better in all facets.”

But Rodón expressed three goals on balls, which all came to score on circuits.

Before Saturday, Rodón had never been less than sensational against the food. He entered with a 3-0 sheet and an MPM of 1.15 in three career debut against the dishes, including an outing of a round and a round in the Bronx in May.

Overall, Rodón was 8-2 with an MPM of 2.26 during his last 14 departures. With defeat, Rodón fell to 9-6 with a 3.30 MPM this season.

“It’s never fun when you go through a six game section [losing streaks]”Said Rodón.” This is why we play 162 games. The baseball season seems to have a mental impact on the guys, of course, including me, each of us, but it is a marathon, so you must continue. “”

The Yankees made another error after the departure of Rodón.

The Central Trent Grisham Central Player has failed to give a Single of RBI seventh in Francisco Lindor on a hop, allowing Lindor to go to the second base. Ronny Mauricio scored the second blow at the time.

Lindor would later mark on a three-point home run by Alonso, who has three multi-homer games this year and 24 in his career. Alonso ended the day with 246 career circuits, leaving him six timid to link the Darryl Strawberry franchise record.

“We just have to play better,” said Aaron. “This is what it comes down to. These are the fundamental principles, which makes the routine routine. It’s just the little things. … Each good team goes through a few bumps on the road, but we cannot let it vacil what is our ultimate goal.”

The Yankees endured a fear when the judge was struck in the face by a throw from Anthony Volpe while the defenders threw the ball after the final of the fifth round.

The incident left the judge with blood next to his right eye and required a bandage, but the hitter said that he was fine.

“In the end, I don’t think nothing too serious, of course,” added Boone. “But yes, at the start, [I was] very worried. “”

When the Yankees lost six in a row from June 13 to 19, the greatest culprit was their attack, because they only totaled six points during this sequence.

The Yankees have left the bats much better during this six-game section, with an average of 5.7 points per game. But their pitch had difficulties this time, granting 54 points (51 deserved) on 48 rounds for an MPM of 9.56 in the six defeats.

“As banal as it may seem, or also cheesy, it is the moments that build character within a team and also help you discover and define what you need to move forward,” said Boone.

The last time the Yankees underwent two sequences of six consecutive defeats during the same season, they rebounded to win the World Series, beating the food in five games in this fall classic.

Current Yankees seek to bounce against the food on Sunday afternoon, when Ace Max Fried (10-2, 2.13 ERA) will try to repel a scan of the Subway series in Queens.
