ChatGPT’s yearly recap sums up your conversations with the chatbot

ChatGPT joins the flood of applications offering annual recaps to users. It’s rolling out a “Year in Review” feature that will show you a bunch of stats — like how many messages you’ve sent to the chatbot in 2025 — as well as an AI-generated pixel art-style image that encompasses some of the topics you’ve been talking about this year.
The image I received showed an aquarium next to a game cartridge, an Instant Pot, and a computer screen, reflecting some of the questions I had about retro game consoles, cooking, and setting up my aquarium.
There are also other personalized summaries, like an overview of the most prevalent themes in your chats, a description of your chat style, and the day you sent the most messages to the chatbot. You’ll also see an “archetype” that places you in a category based on how you’ve used the app this year, like “The Producer” or “The Browser,” as well as a personalized reward, like the one I received: “Instant Pot Prodigy.”
Annual summaries are now available to users in the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. It is only available if you have given ChatGPT permission to reference your past conversations and personal preferences. You can find your year in review by selecting the option on the ChatGPT app home page on mobile or desktop, or by prompting ChatGPT to “view my year in review”.
