Ubisoft shuts down ‘Rainbow Six Siege’ servers following hack

Yesterday, Ubisoft confirmed that Rainbow Six Headquarters had been compromised and that he shut down the game’s servers and marketplace while he fixed the problem. Hackers managed to take control of a significant portion of the game’s systems, including the ability to ban and unban users, send custom messages to ban ticker, unlock all in-game items, and grant each player 2 billion credits and R6 fame.
Ubisoft sells R6 Credits in its store, priced from 15,000 to $99.99. This means that the real value of the 2 billion R6 credits is approximately $13.33 million.
Ubisoft has made it clear that no one will be punished for spending the credits received. However, all transactions made after 11:00 UTC on Saturday (6:00 AM ET) will be canceled to prevent abuse. As of this writing, service has not yet been restored. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for comment and will update if and when they respond.
