Same Media That Tore Into Elon Musk Ignore When Mamdani Does Exact Same Thing – RedState
Remember when the world’s media went crazy over Elon Musk’s arm gesture that they claimed was a Nazi salute? It happened almost a year ago today, January 20, 2025, at a rally in Washington, DC, celebrating Donald Trump’s inauguration for his second term.
An enthusiastic Musk held out his arm in a straight line for just a second – and the world went crazy. “I never imagined we would see the day when what appears to be a Heil Hitler salute would be made behind the presidential seal,” retired Rep. Jerry Nadler (NY-15) wrote gratefully on social media. “80 years after Auschwitz, Elon Musk keeps the fascist salute alive,” headlines a Newsweek opinion piece. Not to be outdone, the Associated Press chimed in, writing: “Musk’s tense gesture was embraced by right-wing extremists, regardless of what he meant. »
But guess who also used this gesture repeatedly? You got it – New York’s new Democratic Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Does the dominant, corrupt and lying press care? Of course not. He is a progressive; he can do what he wants.

Unsurprisingly, disgraced Minnesota Governor Walz joined in on Elon’s feeding frenzy:
Liberals and critics frequently attacked Trump while he was on the campaign trail as a Hitler fascist, including former Vice President Kamala Harris, who compared Trump to the German dictator during a town hall in the latter part of the 2024 election cycle. Musk attended Trump’s 2025 inaugural parade, where he addressed his supporters and was accused of saluting the crowd in Hitler’s style – a narrative promoted by Democrats such as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Musk previously spoke about the sustained “Nazi” fascist attacks he and most other members of Trumpworld have endured. It’s pure propaganda, he says:
“Well, I mean, look, it’s a relentless propaganda campaign, which President Trump has obviously known about for a very long time, 20 years, maybe longer,” Musk said on Fox News’ “My View with Lara Trump” in May. “And politics is a blood sport, so they’re going to launch every attack they can to destroy someone’s public perception.”
We have a saying here: you can’t hate the media enough. Once again, they herded like sheep when it fit the left’s narrative, then retreated like mob bosses when it didn’t. This reminds me of a similar moment in March 2024, when Trump was talking about the bloodbath in the auto industry. Dozens of media outlets jumped in with what almost seemed like coordinated headlines to make the absurd claim that he was calling for violence in the streets.

As we reported, Musk posted on social media on New Year’s Day that he fully supports the Republican Party in the midterms. The media may be sharpening their knives in anticipation of their next Nazi attack, but fewer and fewer people will listen. When your double standard is this blatant, you further damage your credibility, if that is even possible after the great cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline.
As Musk said in his Friday message, “they’re lying.”
