Finding a new job is hard work, especially in your 60s

1964. That seems to be the problem to me.
About six weeks ago I was released from my workplace. Since Ohio is a right-to-work state and the business is moving in a new direction, I applied for unemployment benefits.
And since I had never done this before, it was not an easy task. I spent a total of 3.5 hours on hold on the phone. And after the third week, my benefits were denied due to a problem with the employer. I was told how to rectify the situation and that after another 3-4 weeks a decision would be made.
I’ve been working since I was 14 and haven’t been let go once, often working two jobs.
I found another job, thanks to my family. But no thanks to the 26 places I applied for.
I have a very diverse background and I can do almost anything. I even participated in three different interviews. These were very short.
Having been born in 1964, I am today a handicap. I didn’t see this coming. Always ready to work.
