Tom Brady doesn’t get a vote for MVP. But if he did, he knows who would get his vote.

“I think what Matthew Stafford’s done this season has been absolutely remarkable,” Brady said on FOX on Sunday. “Forty-six touchdowns, for any quarterback, that’s a dream season. So he’s been spectacular.”

The race is essentially between Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.

Brady acknowledged Maye has done “incredible things” in his first year with Josh McDaniels as the offensive coordinator, but believes Stafford holds the edge.

“Drake’s got a long career ahead,” Brady said. “I’m sure he’s gonna have many opportunities. But I would say Matthew Stafford (is MVP).

Both Stafford and Maye have played well this year. Statistically, an argument can be made for both quarterbacks to win the annual award.

But Maye has done more with less all year, and helped his case further on Sunday when he went 14-of-18 for 191 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ Week 18 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Maye also eclipsed the 4,000 passing yard mark and has put his name in the Patriots and NFL history books throughout the season.
