X is fully online after going down for most of the morning

X appears to be working again after experiencing an outage that took the service offline and slowed its loading for much of the morning. According to the X Developer Platform page, there is an ongoing incident related to streaming endpoints that has caused an increase in errors. The incident began at 7:39 a.m. PT, according to the page.

This roughly coincides with an increase in reporting at Down Detector. The problems seemed somewhat intermittent. At times, X’s website partially loaded and only displayed older articles. At other times, the app and website wouldn’t load at all.

As of 9:30 a.m. PT, X’s Explore and Trending pages were loading, but the “following” tab did not display posts and instead suggested users “find people and topics to follow” (as shown in the screenshot below).

As of 11:15 a.m. PT, the X developers site was still reporting ongoing issues. So there may still be ongoing issues even if the website appears to be working normally again. Reports on Down Detector have also decreased significantly.

X did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the outage. As TechCrunch note, this is the second time this week that X has encountered significant problems. The service was also interrupted on Tuesday for many users around the world.

But even though the latest issues were widespread, some posts still failed to post. Rival Bluesky, who earlier this week changed her profile picture from X to her bikini butterfly logo, took the opportunity to throw some shade.

At 1 p.m. PT, X updated its status page to say the issue had been resolved after nearly six hours. He did not specify the underlying cause.
