Alex Soros Praises Gavin Newsom Rebuking Trump at Davos

Alex Soros, son of prominent left-wing billionaire activist George Soros, welcomed California Governor Gavin Newsom’s rebuke of President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Soros shared a photo of himself with Newsom at the forum while praising the governor on X.

“It’s great to have the real star of the World Economic Forum 2026, my friend Gavin Newsom. I’m so happy he’s here to challenge world leaders because they believe appeasement works when it comes to Trump,” Soros said.

“It’s not. This only encourages it to become more chaotic and destructive. World leaders could take a leaf out of Newsom’s book. It’s time to stand up, stand firm and united – before it’s too late,” Soros added.

As Breitbart News reported, Newsom “denounced world leaders’ failure to stand up to President Donald Trump when he spoke to a reporter Tuesday at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland”:

The journalist asked if he had a message for Europeans worried about the Trump administration’s comments on Greenland, New York Post reported Tuesday.

Greenland has been a territory under Danish control since the 18th century, and Trump recently told Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre that the world would not be safe until the United States acquired it.

In his comments at Davos, Newsom said“It’s time to get our act together, it’s time to get serious and stop being complicit. It’s time to stand up strong and have a backbone…I can’t stand this complicity, people are turning around. I should have brought a bunch of knee pads for all the world leaders.”

President Trump will address the World Economic Forum on Wednesday.
