Seth Meyers reluctantly takes ‘A Closer Look’ at Trump’s Davos speech

Donald Trump delivered a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday and Seth Meyers used his “A Closer Look” segment on Late at night to reluctantly recap what happened.
“Donald Trump addressed world leaders in Davos and gave a completely normal speech,” Meyers said, “in which he repeatedly confused Greenland with Iceland, called windmills ‘losers,’ said the United States was giving gifts to Canada, mocked the French president for wearing sunglasses, created a new country called Aberbajan and told the crowd in Switzerland, where the majority of people speak German, that without the United States, they would speak German, which they already speak.
“For more, it’s time for ‘Seth Looks at the Ceiling and Hopes the Bad News Goes Away’.”
Like fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert, Meyers noted that the US president repeatedly mixed up Iceland and Greenland at Davos, although he threatened to take Greenland (a Danish self-governing territory) and not Iceland (the Nordic country).
“He doesn’t even remember the name of the territory he wants to conquer,” Meyers said. “Wait, I’ll try looking at the ceiling again.”
