Samsung Galaxy Unpacked rumors: Potential dates and devices

Samsung has a few new phones to show off, and obviously we’ll see them very soon.
The Korean tech giant just presented its vision of an AI-powered future at CES 2026, but it’s not done yet. Rumors are circulating about an upcoming Unpacked showcase that would theoretically focus on at least the new Galaxy S26 phones. However, two big questions remain: When exactly will the Samsung Unpacked showcase take place in early 2026? And will we have a confirmed US release date for the highly anticipated Galaxy TriFold?
Let’s dig in and find out.

Samsung Unpacked 2026 Rumors: When Is It?
This question is (apparently) quite easy to answer. We don’t have a confirmed date yet, but some of the mobile world’s most reliable tipsters have already pegged a rumored date for Samsung Unpacked. One of them is Evan Blass, who has a pretty remarkable track record when it comes to making money with this stuff. On

Another extremely reliable Samsung leaker, Ice Universe, also turned to X in late January to offer a more comprehensive product launch schedule. According to Ice Universe, Unpacked will take place on February 25 (as Blass said). Beyond that, the pre-order and pre-sale periods would last between February 26 and March 10, with the device available in stores on March 11. That would be pretty late by Samsung standards, but considering it’s late January and Samsung still hasn’t said a word about Unpacked, it also feels like it might be true. The current global memory shortage could also be a factor in this.

Samsung usually holds its start-of-year Unpacked events in January or early February, but if this happened in January this year, we would have heard something official by now. For now, the date of February 25 is a safe bet.
Rumors about Samsung Unpacked 2026: what will be shown?

The question of what will be shown at this Unpacked event is also pretty easy to answer, based on precedent from previous years. In short, expect a lot of information about the Galaxy S26 phones. Just like in previous years, early leaks suggest that there will be three new S26 smartphones:
Recent reports point to a fairly gradual refresh of the Galaxy S line this year, which is interesting because a few months ago there were rumors that Samsung would shake things up in 2026. The company had allegedly replaced the Plus model with a new ultra-thin Edge phone, but Apple’s success with the iPhone 17 – putting pro-level features into the base phone without increasing the price – reportedly caused Samsung to back off and stick with what worked in previous years.
We also have a list of potential color options, courtesy of Blass. The leaker said the colors would be black, white, silver umber, sky blue, cobalt purple and rose gold. At least two or three of these could be online exclusives, as Samsung has done in the past. Finally, some early reports indicate that Samsung will try to keep phone prices the same as last year, even amid the current RAM shortage that threatens to raise tech prices, or in some cases is already actively doing so.
Unfortunately, we also learned that Samsung will no longer be offering its usual pre-order offer, which allows early buyers to get double the storage at no extra cost.
Are we finally going to get the TriFold?

Last year’s first Unpacked event was almost entirely focused on Galaxy phones and the AI features of those phones, with a very brief surprise appearance from Samsung’s XR headset at the end. I would expect this year’s showcase to also be focused on the Galaxy S26 phones, but the fact that the Galaxy TriFold is also expected to launch in early 2026 in the US might also warrant some time being given to that phone. Samsung already showed off this device in Korea and at CES, so perhaps it will be mentioned more quickly with a price and release date instead of a full blown debut.
Either way, we apparently have several weeks to think and reflect.
