Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé hospitalized amid the Club World Cup

Miami – Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe was hospitalized with a sharp case of gastroenteritis, the Spanish club announced on Thursday.
The winner of the World Cup Mbappe missed the Real Madrid’s opening match at the Club World Cup against the Saudi team Al Hilal in Miami on Wednesday due to a fever.
Coach Xabi Alonso said he hoped that the French international would be available for the next team match against Pachuca on Sunday. But his hospitalization has a doubt about the role he could play in the one-month-old tournament in the United States.
Real Madrid said Mbappe “would suffer a series of tests and would follow the appropriate treatment of treatment”.
The absence of Mbappe is a blow for the tournament, which the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, hopes will be one of the elite events of football and rivals competitions like the Champions League and the Premier League in popularity and value.
After Lionel Messi, Mbappe is undoubtedly the biggest star in the show, with Real Madrid one of the favorites to raise the trophy in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
But a crowd of more than 62,000 people at Hard Rock Stadium missed a rare chance of seeing him in person in the United States when he was not available Wednesday for the surprise of Real Madrid by Al Hilal on Wednesday.
Gastroenteritis is also known as gastric influenza and symptoms may include vomiting and diarrhea.
The hospitalization of Mbappe occurs almost exactly a year after having undergone a broken nose in the European championship and had to wear a mask to continue playing in the tournament.
