Raspberry Pi launches a USB flash drive that won’t flake under pressure

Raspberry Pi is now launching its own USB 3.0 flash drive, the Raspberry Pi Flash Drive, which promises higher quality and more reliable performance than many cheaper alternatives on the market. It is available in two versions: 128 GB and 256 GB.
According to Raspberry Pi, the smaller 128 GB model has a write speed of up to 75 MB/s while the larger 256 GB model achieves up to 150 MB/s. To combine high performance and stability, the memory uses pSLC cache for fast writes in short bursts while long-term performance is measured without the benefits of cache. Design-wise, it has an easy-to-grip aluminum casing, a keyring hole, and a laser-etched Raspberry Pi logo.
Raspberry Pi writes that it has been tested on tens of thousands of random power outages and disconnections under load to ensure data is not lost in everyday situations. In addition to this, there is support for SSD-like SMART health reporting, TRIM commands, and automatic low power mode when the device is not in use.
The Raspberry Pi Flash Drive is available for purchase now and costs $30 for the 128GB model and $55 for the 256GB model.
